The day of my surgery was amazing. Before getting in the operating chair, I noticed the time on the clock was 2:40 p.m. Through the procedure Dr. Perl took care to narrate everything that was happening as he was doing it. The procedure was quick and painless but not rushed at all. When I sat up in the operating chair, the clock was instantly clear, and it read 3:04pm. I could not believe this procedure only took 24 minutes start to finish. Right after, Dr. Perl checked on me and directed me to take a nap when I got home to rest my eyes. When I woke up from my nap around 8pm, Dr. Perl called me personally on my cell phone to see how I was doing. This really made the difference because he assured me that every 3 hours I would notice improvements and I definitely did. The morning after I drove myself to my follow up, and it was amazing how clearly I could see.
Dr. Perl was very careful with every step of this process. Him and his team took the time to take measurements and weigh all options to laser eye surgery before having all the options laid out for me to pick what was most the best thing for my eyes. I would suggest anyone considering eye surgery or correction to use Corneal Associates of NJ because of how personable and amazing they truly made the experience. Of all medical anything, has anyone ever have a doctor call the night after surgery to check up on your status? In short, use them.
Now, it is 5 weeks since my procedure and I have healed so well. I am now an optometry student so my fellow students and instructors are constantly amazed at my vision, which is better than 20/20 in both eyes. My fellow future optometrists are completely jealous! During post-op appointments, my optometrist could not believe how clean of a job Dr. Perl did and she kept saying she could hardly see a scar on my cornea at all. Having this LASIK procedure down right before I entered my program was the best thing that I ever did, and I would only recommend Dr. Perl and the Corneal Associates of NJ to anyone who asks. If I had to do this again, I would in a heartbeat even if I did not win it for free. Thank you to Dr. Perl and his staff for taking amazing care of me!

Dr. Perl changed my life with LASIK, and my story is crazy. I had been working at an optometrist’s office for a year because I was actually going to be beginning a Doctorate of Optometry program myself starting this school year. Representatives from Corneal Associates had visited the private practice I worked at in order to explain to our staff how they used only the latest and least invasive laser technology possible to ensure not only an effective and precise procedure, but also a quick healing without complications. I was instantly intrigued and considered getting the procedure for myself. To my disbelief, I actually won that month’s free LASIK procedure only a couple weeks after! I could not believe my luck, so I called back the office staff and explained to Jackie there that I was going to be moving to Boston in about 3 weeks to begin my optometry program and I wasn’t sure if I would even have time to fit in this procedure. Jackie addressed my concerns immediately and set up my consultation appointment right away. When I came in for my consultation, I interacted with about five staff members, all of whom were so caring. They all took the time to explain every little test they were doing on me, made sure I understood and then explained the results to me. When I met with Dr. Perl, he greeted me with the good news that I was deemed a good candidate for the surgery, and he explained exactly how the procedure would go, what I should expect in terms of recovery, and made sure I was comfortable with the procedure in general.
I was very impressed with the entire experience at Corneal Associates. Dr. Perl was both professional and had a bedside manner. He answered all of my questions and the Lasik procedure was done exactly as he described. The procedure was painless and overall fairly easy. Now I can wake up and see the clock, see the definition on the trees and watch TV without glasses or contacts. This procedure was really life changing for me. A big thank you to Dr Perl and all of his staff for their professionalism, kindness, knowledge, comfort and all around excellent job! I would definitely recommend Dr. Perl and his staff.
Maybe for certain things this office is good. However, I needed to order specialty contacts , a service they offer, and while the doctor may be good the staff was not good and handling things. Calling numerous times to be put to voice mail and wait ... getting a call back the end of the day to not be able to order anything. 6 days trying to call and get them to respond and they are too busy because only one person can respond or handle this. NOT A GOOD SYSTEM . For the money we paid out of pocket for a surgery not covered by insurance, to be treated in a dismissive manner is not appreciated. This could of been handled in one day. Switching offices.
